The N719 Industry Standard Dye (Di-tetrabutylammonium cis-bis(isothiocyanato)bis(2,2′-bipyridyl-4,4′-dicarboxylato)ruthenium(II)) is a ruthenium complex dye modified from the N3 Foundation Dye enabling to increase the device voltage. It is the most common high performance dye, often called the industry’s “workhorse dye”. The N719 Industry Standard Dye (CAS Number: 207347-46-4) is more soluble than the N3 Foundation Dye in polar solvents.
