n-propylammonium iodide (PAI; CAS Number: 14488-45-0) is a salt used in the formation of two-dimensional hybrid perovskites. The incorporation of n-propylammonium iodide additives to the precursor solution induced enhanced efficiency and stability of 2D–3D mixed organic–inorganic perovskite solar cells (Fei et al., 2019; Yao et al., 2019). The propylammonium cation induces passivation of grain boundaries and film surface and is one of the most effective organic spacers at mitigating instability issues (Fei et al., 2019).
